The roots of my peace

What brings you peace?

For me, there is only one thing that truly brings me peace, and that is being in the house of God, or church. There is something about being surrounded by fellow believers, all engaged in the act of praising and worshiping God, that fills me with an indescribable sense of calm. It is as if everything else in the world simply falls away, leaving only me and God in a state of perfect harmony.

When I am in the presence of God, it is not just about going through the motions – it is about giving God my whole self. I do not pretend to love God, but rather I truly do love Him. When I think about the incredible sacrifice that God made by sending His son, Jesus Christ, to die for me, it is humbling and awe-inspiring. This act of offering salvation to everyone through Christ’s death on the cross is the ultimate sign of love and care that God has for us.

The reality of hell is made all the more vivid by the fact that God would not have made such a sacrifice if it were not necessary. Jesus’s persecution, suffering, and death were not in vain, but instead provided us with a way to be saved and have everlasting life in God’s kingdom. When I think about all of this, it fills me with gratitude and a deep sense of love for God that I cannot adequately put into words.

So, in short, being in the house of God, praising Him, and serving Him is what brings me peace in this chaotic world. It is there that I can fully acknowledge the unexplained love that God has shown me, and it is where I can feel the closest to Him.
